a few words About Her

Due to my upbringing, I have always had an empathetic heart for those in need. I grew up in a split home surrounded by domestic violence, abuse, and addiction.
I faced several traumatic events at a young age, yet was raised in a family where emotions were seen as a weakness, and I had no one to confide in for help. Thus, I always knew I wanted to be that safe space for those in need, but I was unsure in what way until high school.
Junior year of high school, my dad had a traumatic accident and was admitted into a rehabilitation center. Next to his room was the Art Therapy room. Growing up, I always loved art and used it as an emotional outlet. Thus, my fascination with art therapy classes grew, and I often watched them when visiting my dad. The Art Therapist noticed and began coming to talk to me about Art Therapy and how it is used to help those in need. At that moment, my fascination switched from art to therapy, and I knew I wanted to pursue Psychology.
I have learned great self-awareness through my experiences and journey within the field, and I utilize this within my specializations of mindfulness, anxiety, trauma, and adolescents.
